Matariki
Star biscuits were made and eaten. Yum Yum Yummy !!

The Rain came down and the floods came up. Look at the rain gauge, it was full to over flowing. We ate lunch inside with Room2. It was like a Big Long dinner party.

I will see you again soon!!

Dear Room 1!!

I have only got one more week in Peru, and then I am coming back to New Zealand! After the holidays, I will see you at School and I will be your teacher again! I am really looking forward to seeing you all again! What are you all doing for the holidays?

Do you want to see a few more photos?

I hope you all have a really nice holiday!

Love from Miss Mansell xoxox

Look at this restaurant! I wanted to eat at the top but Fern and Bethany didn't want to, so we didn't!

Here is Bethany and I at a resturant. Bethany is going to teach in the class when I come back to NZ.

Look! Here is Bethany saving Fern! But they are just pretending!

Me flying!

Here are some posters that I put up in the class. Do you know what they are for?

Here is a big Bible on the wall! The children learn verses from the Bible.

Here is a poster of the kids at the sports day!

Look at how many stickers these children have! At the bottom is if they are naughty. If they are naughty once, they get one sad face and that is a warning. If they are naughty again, they get another sad face and they have to stay in at break time for 5 minutes and if they are naughty again they get another sad face, and they have to go to the office and sit there and miss out. It’s good to get stickers, but it’s not good to get sad faces.

This is me and Arom.

Bethany and I with some of the kids in our class!

We made crosses and put them in the window. They look really good when the sun shines through!

This is Maggie. She lives at Fern's place.

There was a mouse in our house!

We caught it in the trap!

We are playing fuse ball! It was lots of fun!

I’m at the market on a Sunday afternoon! I was sooo thirsty, so I bought a coconut. The lady made a hole in the top and she put a straw in it and I drank up all the juice that was inside. It was very yummy!

Hi from Miss Mansell in Peru!

Dear Room 1!
I love your pastel pictures! I can't wait to see them hanging up in the office when I come back to Tasman Bay Christian School! What else have you been doing at school?
Here are some more photos of me in Peru!
Love from Miss Mansell

Do you like this wall? The children have been learning how to say "My name is _____." in English. I took a photo of each of them and then we put them all up on the wall!

When there's no more room in the mini-van or buses, people ride on the the back of utes!

I was driving along and then all of a sudden I had to stop! These people were moving some animals! What animals can you see?

This is Rachel and I with some girls on a sports day that we had for Father's Day.

This is Shegui. He is having fun doing a sack race!

Joseph and Juan in a sack race too!

This is Rachel and I with two 3 year old twins. They are sooo cute!

Fern and I went for a walk on Sunday. We had lunch in the middle of a river on a rock. We took our shoes off and put our feet in the cold water! It was nice!

Can you read these words Room 1? We were learning about "p." What words do you know that start with "p?"

Do you know how the children say "Good Morning" to me? They give me a kiss on the cheek and I give them a kiss on their cheek at the same time! Just like this photo and the one below too!

Shegui saying "Good Morning" to me!

Look what these children found at morning tea time to play with! Some bricks! They have made a hut out of them!

I found a map of the world on the internet and printed it off onto A3 paper. These boys love looking at it! Can you see where I am? Do you know where you are?

We used pastels to draw these pictures.

Pastels make your fingers messy because you have to rub the colours for best effect.

We used thick art paper to make our great pictures.

Our pictures are going to take turns hanging in the frames in the office area.

Hi from Miss Mansell!

Dear Room 1!
I loved your paintings and your treasure boxes! How did cross-country go at Dovedale School? I miss you! Would you like to see some more photos of me in Peru?

It was Shegui's birthday. He turned 6! We had a party for him! Can you see his name on the cake?

These girls are playing a game. Do you know what game it is?

The children have learnt how to sit on the mat with their legs crossed!

This is Daphne doing some writing on the whiteboard. Can you guess what letter we were learning about today?

Did you know that if you buy a drink, sometimes it comes in a bag! Oh no, is Miss Mansell going to spill it everywhere?!

Phew...no she didn't!

We made a chocolate slice for all the Dad's for Fathers day. I'll tell you what we did, just incase you want to make it too!
1. Get 250g of plain biscuits and smash them up. Count to 10 to take turns.

2. Pour in 3/4 cup of coconut and 1/3 cup of cocoa powder into the bowl with the biscuits.

3. Pour in 1 tin of condensed milk. In this photo you can see two tins. That's because each group doubled the recipe so we would have enough!

4. Mix it all up.

5. Press it into a tin and put it in the fridge to cool. Then you can ice it and cut it up and then you can even put it into the freezer!

6. Package it up with cellophane and give it to your Dad or whoever you want to!

Treasure Boxes we have loved making. You can pull open the draw and keep teeny weeny treasures in.
